My name is Janet Martin and I am the BTRG Project Manager (PM) for an on-going 9.1 PeopleSoft HCM Upgrade for one of our clients.  This BLOG is intended to document the daily happenings of our project.  I named it “Ramblings…” because that is typically what it will be.  I’ll be honest and open and you’ll see and feel my accomplishments and frustrations as we proceed.  I have been implementing and upgrading PeopleSoft HCM for the past 15 years.  I am typically a Senior Functional Analyst or Solutions Expert, as well as a Project Manager.   I am often a presenter/speaker at conferences across the US, including OHUG, Collaborate, Open World and many of the local Regional User Groups.

This current upgrade project is from HCM version 8.9 to 9.1.  The customer has HR, Base Benefits, and NA Payroll.  They also use some parts of Absence Management and Self Service (ESS and MSS).  They are currently on PeopleTools version 8.49 and will be upgrading to 8.50.  Our customer, is in the Government Contracting business and has main offices in both Boston, MA and McLean, VA.    They have been a PeopleSoft customer for 15 years.  Their team consists of a project manager, 5- HRIT members, 4- Subject Matter Experts, 3- Technical Development members and 2-Service Center members.  BTRG’s team consists of a Project Manager (me), a Sr. Functional HR/Benefits Consultant and a Sr. Functional Payroll Consultant.
