BTRG was proud to be a title sponsor of the Information Governance Summit held March 18th-March 20th in New York City. The event brought together professionals in various industries and departments to discuss the challenges, opportunities and questions around Information Governance.
Mike Martin, BTRG’s Information Governance Practice Director, led a compelling presentation covering the benefits of implementing a holistic Information Lifecycle Governance solution.
“With data growing at such a rapid rate and from such a wide variety of sources,” Martin said, “we feel it is important for professionals in this field to be able to capitalize on the newest trends in technology.”
“Businesses need to begin to take steps to defensibly dispose of data debris. 70% of the data that businesses keep could be disposed of, thus saving millions in storage, legal/eDiscovery and reduce risk. It is a big undertaking, but by starting the process with manageable projects, we can help businesses work goal of defensively disposal.
Other presentations included topics such as, incorporating flexibility into the information governance plan, creating a pilot project to prove the tangible value of information governance and the cost of not addressing information governance as a priority.
