Using Delivered Functionality to Reduce Customizations & Total Cost of Ownership
Thu. July 23 | 2:30 PM – 3:20 PM | International Ballroom F
BTRG conducted a re-implementation of PeopleSoft v9.2 at SLAC National Accelerator Laboratory (SLAC). As part of the re-implementation, BTRG implemented the Person Model and utilized Non-Person Profile functionality to reduce customizations by 85%. In its previous version of PeopleSoft, SLAC had custom records to store information for all of its non-employees. Additionally, there were custom records and fields for storing and maintaining various positions associated with departments. The presentation at RECONNECT will include how we worked with the client (SLAC) to define the types of persons to be reflected in the system and how data would be converted from the custom records. We will also present how we used Non-Person Profiles to enable the identification and maintenance of positions associated with departments without requiring any customization.
