Like you, we're eagerly awaiting the release of PeopleSoft 9.1. Currently, we expect the following enhancements to the PeopleSoft Inventory Management module in the next release:

  • To streamline item set up, PeopleSoft 9.1 will provide configurable templates as a more flexible way of assigning default values to item attributes at the setID level and business unit level.
  • Inventory 9.1 will provide enterprise integration points that will allow you to create material stock requests based on data from 3rd party sources and then advance them immediately to the released, shipped, or depleted fulfillment state.
  • If you ship orders but delay billing and costing of a shipment PeopleSoft Inventory 9.1 will likely provide deferred depletion functionality to accommodate when order lines are processed for billing and costing.
  • PeopleSoft Inventory 9.1 should allow you to complete the entire Return to Vendor transaction in one step � as opposed to the multiple steps required in earlier releases.
  • PeopleSoft Inventory 9.1 is expected to provide a new Delivery function designed to replace the Estimated Shipments functionality.
  • PeopleSoft Inventory 9.1 is expected to provide integration with 3rd-party freight systems so you can provide freight charges and dates for shipping and arrival for sales orders and quotes.
  • Expect multiple enhancements to interunit transfer orders.
