Toronto Sick Children’s Hospital
The Hospital for Sick Children (SickKids), affiliated with the University of Toronto, is Canada’s most research-intensive hospital and the largest centre dedicated to improving children’s health in the country. In an effort to streamline their Financials and Human Resources business processes, SickKids selected BTRG as their Peoplesoft Systems Integrator of choice.
BTRG has maintained a long standing relationship straddling many different projects and utilizing multiple BTRG resources. We have assisted in a number of different infrastructure, technical, and functional engagements related to recent Financials and HR upgrades from 8.8 to 8.9/9.0. BTRG also played a key role within HR to rollout new functionality and streamline business processes in eProfile, ePay, eCompensation, eRecruit and Payroll. We have developed several interfaces for Time Capture and many customizations to both the Financial and HR modules. On the reporting side, Sick Kids had very complex reporting requirements due to an in-house developed Grants system. BTRG was brought in on another engagement to do extensive and complex reporting through nVision.
Today, BTRG continues to work closely with SickKids and is currently working on an interface project to extract Health and Safety data from an in-house developed system, which will in turn feed into the PeopleSoft Health and Safety module.
Through a competitive bidding process, BTRG was selected from among the leading PeopleSoft systems integrators to perform AmeriHealth Mercy’s upgrade from PeopleSoft HCM and Financials 8.9 to 9.1. Partners HealthCare is a not-for-profit, integrated health care system in Boston, Massachusetts. Founded by Brigham and Women’s Hospital and Massachusetts General Hospital – two of the nation’s leading academic medical centers – Partners HealthCare includes community and specialty hospitals, a managed care organization, a physician network, community health centers, home care and other health related services.
The issues surrounding multiple, homegrown, grants management systems had been a growing concern at Partners Healthcare. Multiple systems made enterprise-wide visibility into the grants pipeline cumbersome, and in 2005 it began evaluating potential solutions. As part of its evaluation BTRG was asked to join Partners Healthcare onsite in Boston to deliver a presentation that would address the capabilities of PeopleSoft Enterprise Grants Management. Recognizing the benefits of an enterprise-level grants solution, Partners Healthcare purchased the Grants module and asked BTRG to implement a Grants solution.
Simultaneously with the implementation of Grants, Partners HealthCare upgraded their Peoplesoft Financials application from v8.4 to v8.9. BTRG provided project leadership, chartfield re-design, and technical support to the internal upgrade team.
BTRG consultants also provided both functional and technical support for the implementation of the HR, Benefits, and Payroll modules. BTRG developed a new training status page, training request pages, and training approval pages to support Partners HealthCare talent management cycle.
