Founder / President
As President and Founder of BTRG, Jeff is a technological leader who combines his finance background with his in-depth experience to implement systems that change the way we do business. Starting in 1984, Jeff established his career by developing financial systems on PCs, LANs and Unix based systems to replace costly mainframe applications for local government and small businesses. A visionary of the early PC revolution, he filled roles ranging from programmer/analyst to project leader and systems architect. Since 1992, Jeff has been President of BTRG Inc., specializing in the implementation and upgrade of PeopleSoft application software. Jeff was introduced to PeopleSoft’s owner and developers at an early stage in the company’s evolution. He became an advocate for client/server technology with speaking engagements, client references and early PeopleSoft beta customers. Today, Jeff has been a driving force in the company’s growth from 4 people to about 100 consultants and staff working for more than 50 major customers. Since Jeff founded BTRG, he has worn many hats and filled different roles across the organization. Today, he is focused on the company’s direction and discovering new innovative technologies that help clients. Jeff has an honors BA in Economics from York University in Toronto, Canada.
Chief Operating Officer
Pierre joined BTRG in 1995, shortly after creating a revolutionary reporting approach in one of Canada’s largest financial institutions and implementing the first version of PeopleSoft Financials at a large utility. He ensured early on that BTRG’s PeopleSoft implementations were characterized by technical innovation and, most importantly, high customer satisfaction.
Specializing in the Financial Services sector, Pierre successfully implemented PeopleSoft Financials for many Fortune 500 companies. His deep experience and customer-focused approach culminated in fulfilling a key role in a large insurance industry merger. Now responsible for the success of BTRG’s practices, Pierre has helped to develop businesses that partner with the largest IT industry’s software vendors. He has an MBA from McMaster University, specializing in Finance and an MA from the University of Toronto.
Vice President Sales and Marketing
Troy has 20 years of experience in the technology consulting services market and has taken an active role in building relationships with both current and new clients at BTRG. With the involvement in ERP Implementation and Upgrade services for 14 years, Troy focuses his talent on developing new business with clients from a wide variety of industries, including Government Contracting, Retail, Financial Services, Healthcare and Higher Education.
As a primary contact for many of BTRG’s clients, He has played a significant role in delivering custom solutions for our clients’ complex business needs.
SVP of Consulting Delivery
Rob is responsible for the overall leadership and future direction of BTRG’s Oracle Practice. BTRG’s Oracle practice focuses on the upgrade, implementation and integration of ERP systems and Oracle technologies. Robert provides leadership over a team of Account Managers, Solutions Architects, Project Managers and Technology Consultants. This team is responsible for the tremendous success BTRG is enjoying as we continue to expand into new verticals, deliver new technology solutions, and provide quality solutions for our customers. BTRG remains a top destination for the industry’s best talent, and a safe and secure choice for our customers.
Director of Technology
Surafel is BTRG’s Director of Technology Innovation. He is responsible for all technical aspects of BTRG’s projects and works in a strategic capacity to develop innovative solutions to our client’s complex technical problems.
Surafel is a highly skilled PeopleSoft Technical Architect with over 16 years of IT experience and 14 years of PeopleSoft consulting. He brings special expertise in software usability design, development and database/infrastructure design. He’s an experienced technical system developer and integration manager including a strong background in the use of PeopleSoft development tools with significant system administration experience. Surafel is dedicated, quality-oriented and willing to do whatever is required to bring projects to successful on-time completions.
Director of HCM Solutions
Janet is one of BTRG’s HCM Solutions Architects responsible for solving our client’s unique issues around Human Capital Management with a deep understanding of Oracles products and applications. Janet is a sought after speaker in the HCM community and continues to impress our client base with her vision of HCM solutions and options.
With over 21 years of PeopleSoft HCM consulting expertise Janet is an experienced technology professional. Her primary functional concentration is within PeopleSoft’s Human Resources, Payroll, Benefits Administration and Time & Labor modules with a compliment of extensive Functional Lead roles combined with hands-on Project Management skills. Janet excels at planning, designing and configuring the HRMS/Time and Labor/Expenses applications for Oracle’s PeopleSoft application and has excellent analytical, communication and problem solving skills. She has performed in various efforts including fit/gap assessments, upgrade analysis, implementation planning and deployment.
Director of Finance and Supply Chain Solutions
Eddie has over 20 years of experience in financial accounting and information systems design and development. He has 15 years experience as a PeopleSoft System integrator. Eddie has experience and knowledge in the information systems consulting including experience in project management, systems analysis and design, implementation, conversions, training, post implementation support, cost analysis, management reporting, and BPR within spectrum of financial system applications.
VP of Customer Engagements
Doug Schmidt is BTRG’s Director of Customer Continuity & Support. Doug is responsible for the successful outcomes of our clients ongoing support and delivers leadership between BTRG’s resources and solutions. Doug has 18 years of IT experience with a focus on the delivery of successful PeopleSoft financials and HCM system implementations. He has proven leadership skills and an in-depth understanding of the business processes and functional knowledge of the PeopleSoft modules. Doug has filled various leadership roles that include project manager, financial architect, engagement manager, functional lead and technical lead in a variety of system implementations. He has a BS in Actuarial Science from Pennsylvania State University.
Director of Cloud Technology
As Director of Data Security Innovation, Michael Martin has been focused on delivering cyber security and data management solutions for BTRG customers. He brings more than nineteen years of experience in the Information Technology industry specializing in information governance, enterprise implementations and technology solutions. Prior to running the Data Security practice, Mike was focused on Oracle and PeopleSoft consulting services for over fifteen years.
Michael has successfully solved data quality, data growth, data privacy, data security, test data management and compliance problems for Fortune 1000 customers across many industries including Defense, Healthcare, Financial Services, Higher Education, Retail, Telecommunications and others. He holds a Bachelor’s Degree from Villanova University where he majored in Computer Science.
Director of Cloud Applications
As BTRG’s Director of Oracle Cloud Solutions, Mark develops and delivers offerings and solutions to forward our clients Cloud Roadmaps. Mark has over 20 years of IT ERP and HCM experience where he has been a Practice Manager, Technical Architect, Functional Lead, and Program/Project Manager. Mark’s experience crosses many business disciplines including aerospace, automotive, utilities, retail, manufacturing, distribution, data/network center, healthcare, and banking.
He has a BS Engineering and Computer Science from The Ohio State University and is a Certified Project Manager Professional and holds Oracle Cloud certifications.
Director of Business Solutions Innovation
As Director of Business Solutions Innovation, Nancee is involved in the solution development and delivery planning of all of BTRG’s projects. She works with clients to relay BTRG’s “vision” and sets a clear path to accomplish our client’s goals.
Nancee has expertise in ERP Systems Project Management with Full Lifecycle Implementation and Upgrade and Change Management. With 17 years of Management experience in the public sector, private sector, utilities and consulting industries, Nancee has methodology knowledge and utilizations focusing on Project Management Institute (PMI) standards. She is also knowledgeable in Process Reengineering integration utilizing “Best Practices” to achieve organization efficiencies. Nancee has extensive Accounting and Financial Analysis experience including daily operations, business projections and audit functions.
Director of Project Innovation
John oversees BTRG’s Center of Excellence in Project Management. His combined 33 years of experience in technology and over 20 years of Project Management in both public and private sector organizations make John a prominent thought leader in Project and Portfolio Management. He is responsible for the development of BTRG’s performance management methodologies while also actively architecting solutions on a client-by-client basis.
John has worked internationally to manage large portfolios that include over 50 concurrent projects and project budgets exceeding $85M USD. John is an expert in Waterfall and modified Waterfall methodologies as well as Agile. His educational qualifications include BSEET, MSIS, MBA, and a Doctorate (ABD) in Human and Organizational Systems.
Solutions Architect – HCM
Hugh is one of BTRG’s HCM Solutions Architects. Hugh’s role is to work with BTRG’s clients to deliver lessons learned and continuity across BTRG projects.
Hugh is a “hands-on” Senior PeopleSoft consultant and Solution Architect with over 20 years of functional experience with the HCM application focusing primarily on the Payroll, Benefits and Time & Labor modules. His latest project experience was as a HCM Solution Architect for a PeopleSoft 9.2 re-implementation. Hugh is skilled in client management, leading requirements–gathering sessions, and complex fit/gap analysis, data and systems analysis, strategic planning, providing innovative solutions, training, management/supervision, budget analysis and plan administration.
Solutions Architect - Financials
John is BTRG’s Solutions Architect whose focus is on Financial Applications. John engages at a strategic level with BTRG clients to drive modernization and best practices.
John has 23 years of financial systems experience and 18 years of PeopleSoft consulting. For more than 15 years he has been providing leadership and far-reaching solutions in technical & functional capacities as a Senior Solutions Architect. He has a proven track record of creating and using effective solutions enabling clients to achieve their strategic and tactical goals. John’s primary area of expertise is with Oracle’s PeopleSoft suite of products within the Dept. of Energy, Aerospace & Defense, Financial Services, Utilities, Retail, and Telecommunications industries.
