BTRG Announces InFlight™ Support for PeopleTools 8.51
Press Release: September, 2010
Toronto, Canada - September 2010 - BTRG, a leading Systems Integrator for Oracle's PeopleSoft Enterprise and a Platinum Partner in the Oracle® PartnerNetwork (OPN), announced today that InFlight™ fully supports the latest release of PeopleTools version 8.51 - less than two weeks after its release.
"We are excited to have officially launched support for PeopleTools 8.51 less than two weeks after it hit the street", says James La Brash, Integration Services Manager, at BTRG. "Continued support and development of the InFlight™ product is important to our customers", he continues, "and we set the bar high for ourselves when InFlight™ announced support for SharePoint 2010 prior to its official release by Microsoft".
InFlight™ allows customers to present fully interactive PeopleSoft content inside their SharePoint intranet portals, quickly, securely and without having to write a single line of code. Because InFlight™ sits between PeopleSoft Enterprise and SharePoint and filters the conversation between the two, on the fly; it must be capable of supporting the latest version of PeopleTools which serves as the underpinning of the PeopleSoft applications user experience. "Oracle executed a fundamental shift in technical architecture with the release of PeopleTools 8.50", says Pierre Beausejour, BTRG Director of Solutions, "we therefore expect subsequent versions of PeopleTools, to be readily supported by InFlight™ and PeopleTools 8.51 is a perfect example of this", he says.
"In addition to the Oracle Validated Integration", says James La Brash Integration Services Practice Manager at BTRG, "I'm also really proud of our single sign-on (SSO) functionality, which we consider one of the most secure on the market". InFlight™ offers an ideal PeopleSoft single sign-on (SSO) solution that verifies the authenticity of each request out of SharePoint using a 1024-bit RSA signature. "Our clients are all evaluating different ways of integrating PeopleSoft and SharePoint and their preference is for InFlight™ because it's easy to deploy and very low risk", says John Bonin, BTRG Marketing Manager.
There are a few methods of integrating PeopleSoft and SharePoint. InFlight™ presents the lowest risk option because BTRG will get the product installed, configured and fully functioning before a client is required to license it. In addition, "While WSRP seemed to have a lot of promise as a way to drop PeopleSoft components into SharePoint, the problem is that PeopleSoft and SharePoint implement different versions of the standard", says La Brash. "As a result, out of the box SharePoint PeopleSoft integration using WSRP simply does not work. Even if you're able to get the conversation started, the results can be deflating", he adds. "We moved off of WSRP as an integration technology a long time ago." InFlight™ delivers a superior user experience, especially when surfacing the new AJAX-centric content that's been in place since PeopleTools 8.50. "There are just some aspects of PeopleSoft that can't be replicated using WSRP", notes La Brash, "but InFlight™ doesn't have those limitations."
